Welcome to the Groton Dunstable Youth Basketball League!
We are an organization devoted to providing a positive and supportive environment for kids to learn and play basketball.
We offer two distinct yet complimentary programs – recreation and travel. Rec is open to all (grades 3-12) and all skill levels. Travel (grades 4-8) is more competitive, as teams are selected on a tryout basis. We encourage players to participate in both programs and have structured our schedules so that may happen without conflict. The fundamental aim of each program is the same – skill development, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact us anytime at
It is our hope that you and your child enjoy their GDYBL experience.
Sincerely,
GDYBL Executive Committee
Recreation League Objectives
The GDYBL Recreation League is focused in its effort to teach the basic skills of basketball through the values of teamwork, respect and having fun. Our goal is to create a positive environment in which self-esteem building is accomplished through the reinforcement of skills and creating a positive team atmosphere.
The Recreation League is dedicated to providing opportunities for the youth of Groton and Dunstable to play basketball for enjoyment and recreation; we strive to meet the following goals:
Develop individual and team basketball knowledge and skills for all participants.
Provide equal opportunity for growth and development of all players, regardless of ability and experience.
Emphasize teamwork and cooperation as the key elements of success.
Demonstrate and communicate to all players, coaches and spectators that excellent sportsmanship be exhibited at all times.
Focus on skill development and character development.
Stress the importance of participation for enjoyment, social interaction and fun; winning is not everything.
Deliver a quality product to ALL players equally.
